Simon Nathan, pioneer in panorama

Willie Cole was born 1955 is Newark, NJ, graduated with a BFA from SVA in 1976. His works covers more than 30 years of creating art both in 3-D and print making using consumer objects.
He has used objects such as hair dryers, high heel shoes and above all the steam iron.  It is his use of the steam iron that prompted me to continue the use a GE traveling iron (1958 version) in my photography.  I choose this iron from my collection because it had no steam holes.  It has a very shiny reflective surface like that of a mirror. Although Willie works primarily in printmaking, it is his life size photos prints made at the Rutgers Center for Innovative Printing (now call the Brodsky Center) that gave me reason to include him in this blog. Men of Iron are sold out of the edition of 12.  Only "Sunbeam Male" is available for $6,500. (ed. of 12) which is printed on Epson9600 using Ultra Chrome Archival Inks.  The large prints are 44" x61".
